Visit New Orleans Attractions
My wife’s family live in New Orleans and we visit on a regular basis. There are hundreds of family friendly and KID friendly things to do in New Orleans!
One thing we always do it wander around Jackson Square and enjoy the street bands and artists. Now you have to be careful with children in this area, as only a few streets away are some of the more adult areas of town!
While in the area you can also check out the many steamboats that travel up and down the Mississippi. My wife and I were MARRIED on the Creole Queen , and the wedding party went full tilt late into the evening as we steamed up and down the Mississippi.
Another steamboat to try is the Natchez, a truly wonderful boat from the late 19th century. One major kids place, and the favorite of my daughter, is the New Orleans Audubon Zoo and Aquarium.
My daughter will spend all day here if we’d let her. They have many kid friendly events through-out the year. One summer we even enrolled my daughter in the Jr Keepers camp they had a few years back. To this day, my daughter keeps telling us about the giraffe who kept following her around and licking her face.
You would need to plan to spend at least a week in the area for this, but it’s well worth it in memories. The Aquarium is one of the best facilities in the gulf coast. My wife even helped in the painting of the murals in the facility. They recovered quite well after Katrina, and it’s in full operation again.
Now if you are into something spooky, the cemetaries in New Orleans are the creepiest and spookiest places in the United States! Find a tour for this, and the first place to start is
