Tennessee family vacations would not be complete without visiting some of these great Tennessee tourist attractions! Share your favorite places to visit in Tennessee or read what other families are doing with their road trip plans.

Tennessee family vacations might include the big cities like Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis. While road trip vacation planning for this state, remember all of the major landmarks from the Grand Ole Opry to the home of Elvis Presley, Graceland. Take the Main Street Trolley through Memphis or stroll amongst the big city lights of downtown Nashville.

Slip into the Grand Ole Opry, and then go back in time to the original Opry at Ryman Auditorium. RCA Studio B should be visited while you are in Nashville. You can take a tour through the studio where many country superstars recorded their famous tracks. If you go through Pigeon Forge, head into Dollywood to experience the world through the eyes of Dolly Parton.

Tennessee family vacations might also venture into lesser known destinations through the Discover Tennessee Trails and Byways self-guided driving tour through the state. There will eventually be fifteen different trails that cover the entire state, all leading to an extensive network of little known treasures buried within state boundaries. State trails always make road trip vacation planning easier!

Its easy to do. Here is a review from one reader:

Dollywood, Tennessee

I am a native resident of Tennessee, but my all-time favorite places to visit are right near home. One of the best places to visit (either as a day trip or in an RV) is Dollywood. Dollywood is Dolly Parton's theme park. If you've been to other theme parks and felt overwhelmed, then Dollywood is the place for you.

While the park has great, state-of-the-art roller coasters and other types of rides, there are plenty of other things to do inside Dollywood. With your park admission ticket, you have access to free shows inside the park. There's a show for everyone! I saw a bubble show for kids this past summer. The theater was filled with amazing bubbles while stunts and tricks were performed on stage!

I have also enjoyed countless bluegrass and country music performances at Dollywood. In the Spring, the park holds its annual Festival of Nations, which is an event featuring performances and vendors (yes, even food!) from around the world. They feature Chinese acrobatics, European dance, and many other exotic things on stage in the theaters in the park.

I mentioned the food before, but it needs repeating: the food at Dollywood is the best theme park food I have ever eaten. It was even featured on the Travel Channel. Let me tell you: I can't walk past the smoked sausage or the ribbon fries without buying something. If sweets are a little more your taste, the Sweet Shoppe is great for you. They sell homemade fudge and other candies. They also have a taffy machine right there in the store. I love to watch the ladies make a fresh batch of caramel apple taffy before picking up one of their free samples.

Dollywood is a great place for you to visit while RVing across Tennessee. I strongly recommend it! Visit http://www.dollywood.com for more information!
