Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey

Six Flags Great Adventure (http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/index.aspx) in New Jersey is a fun and affordable place for all families to visit. Plus, it is located not far from Pennsylvania and New York!

If you go early, you will be able to beat the rush and get on the rides super fast! There are some of the best rides in the country at this park, including Kingda Ka and Superman. It is a great way for any adrenaline junkie to have some fun.

Roller coasters not for you? Don’t worry. There are a number of other things you can enjoy! This park is completely family friendly, so there are things for people of all ages to enjoy. There is an interactive movie theatre, boardwalk games, and a bunch of live shows and performances. Music artists even frequently perform at the park!

One of the most exciting shows to see are the water shows, where live animals and their trainers perform. If animals are what you like, this theme park also has a safari!

The price to get in is minimal and you can enjoy the animals from your car as you drive through. There are a number of exotic animals to see, including elephants, giraffes and monkeys. Also, inside the park, they have exhibits where you can see tigers up-close (only a Plexiglas window separates you from the tigers!).

If you plan to visit during the park’s end of the season, you can also experience Freight Fest! This event is perhaps the most fun! Six Flags Great Adventure gets a spooky Halloween make-over, which includes decorations, hay rides, and scary actors.

All in all, this is a great place to visit if you are ever in New Jersey!

My favorite too!

My favorite family friendly activity in New Jersey is Six flags Great Adventure (http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/index.aspx). Depending on the time of year that you are there, there are water rides, and there is also a safari area that you can tour if the roller coasters get old.

There are cute, short musical productions throughout the park during the day, and there is a dedicated play area for children - the Bugs Bunny National Park. As one would expect for a children's area, there are rides designed for those under 54 inches - a carousel and the fun factory play house seemed to be some of the biggest attractions the last time we were there.

Throughout the day, there are people dressed up in costumes of various Looney Tunes characters, and they offer "meet and greets" with the characters much as they do at the Disney parks. The roller coasters are a thrill, my favorite is the Superman roller coaster, and there is supposed to be a new Green Lantern ride for 2011.

The coasters give a good adrenaline rush, and the park is very good about letting parents do what they call a swap pass, so one parent can stay with any children too small for the ride and then catch the next ride after the rest of the family returns.

Six Flags Great Adventure is definitely a family oriented fun spot in New Jersey!
