Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park
My absolutely favorite family-friendly attraction in Idaho is Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park. These parks are attached to make one large theme park. They are located in Athol, Idaho just North of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Silverwood is considered the North West's largest theme park.
Silverwood has over 65 rides and that includes some of the biggest roller coaster's I have ever been on! The best roller coaster I have been on at Silverwood is called Tremors. It is a blast! They also have a lot of really great rides for the kids that are too small to go on the big rides. Another really exciting ride is called the Log Flume. Silverwood also had a lot of other attractions, including magic shows. There are also several food and souvenir stands.
Boulder Beach is a fairly recent add-on to Silverwood. Boulder beach is perfect for a hot summer day. There are several exciting water slides and a lot of different family-friendly activities in Boulder Beach. They have two designated areas for the smaller kids - Toddler Springs and Polliwog Park. At Boulder Beach you can even rent your own shaded cabana between the two wave pools.
Another great thing about Silverwood and Boulder Beach is that you get admission into both parks for one price! The hours of operation vary by time of year but they are usually open until 9pm and you get a large discount on admission if you don't go until after 5pm. They also offer season passes at a very reasonable price.
If you are just passing through Idaho and want a fun place to go, I definitely recommend going to Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park. They are extremely family-friendly and there are things to do for every interest and all ages. If you are interested, you can visit their website at http://www.silverwoodthemepark.com/
