Seaside Heights Boardwalk, New Jersey
The Seaside Heights Boardwalk provides a day of fun for the family. Located in Central New Jersey, the Boardwalk is one of the Jersey Shore's top entertainment attractions.
The main strip stretches between two small amusement parks, Casino Pier (www.casinopiernj.com) and Funtown Pier (www.funtownpier.com) which offer a wide selection of calm kiddie rides for the little kiddies and thrill rides for the thrillseeking kiddies. In between there are even more things to do.
There are classic boardwalk games where the family can compete for prizes. Several arcades with old games like skee-ball and slots (you play for tokens which buy them small prizes, not cash) and new video games await.
When you get hungry, there is plenty of boardwalk food available for you - it may not be the healthiest, but eating at the boardwalk isn't about health. Enjoy giant pizza slices in a unique Jersey shore style, huge hot dogs, and saltwater taffy.
Souvenir shops also line the boardwalk. There is a water park just across the street, and you can even play miniature golf across the rooftops of several buildings. And, of course, you can always step down from the boardwalk for some time on the beach and in the ocean.
During the summers there are even fireworks, music, and movies on many nights. One of the best things about the Seaside Heights boardwalk is the comparison with corporate attractions like Six Flags.
The Boardwalk is run by many small, locally owned businesses, so it has character, history, and tradition that can be lacking elsewhere. It truly makes for a unique, memorable, and charming family vacation destination.
