Rain Forest Cafe, Connecticut
by Tabitha Sopka
My favorite family tourist attraction in Connecticut is a restaurant by the name of Rain forest Cafe. It is located at the West farms mall in Ct. It is a restaurant with of course a Rain forest theme. When you walk in you are greeted by trees and plants and a pond that has a crocodile in it who moves around looking for his next meal. The gift shop is the first thing you see when you enter. They have t-shirts stuffed animals and all kinds of neat stuff to remember the place by. Then when you go through the door ahead of you, you hear the sounds of animals all over that you can see moving about. They have all kinds from snakes, guerrillas, elephants, cheetahs, birds and more. It leads to some fun photos you can have taken with them. Each one acts differently. Occasionally they will have a storm inside where you can see the ceiling darken and hear thunder as lightening flashes. The animals will also react to that. Also inside they have a giant statue with a water fall that was pretty cool to see. The food is good quality. I would say it is about the quality of a little better then a Friendlies restaurant. They have some pretty neat deserts you can have there. One is a ice cream volcano that actually shoots fire out of the top. If you want a drink they have these really neat cups you can get that light up too. The price is a little more pricey but the neat surroundings make it all worth it.
