If you aren't up for such excitement, you might want to visit into one of the Amish communities where you can travel by horse and buggy and experience life in the slow lane. These communities remain true to their roots even in our fast paced modern world, so you can enjoy delicious Amish foods and browse through authentic handmade Amish goods. Some of the best places to visit in Ohio are culturally oriented.

If you go during the warmer months you can head out to the lakes to spend some time on jet skis or just walk along the water for a peaceful afternoon in the sun.

Cedar Point Amusement Park, Sandusky, Ohio

My absolute favorite family friendly attraction in Ohio is Cedar Point. Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio. I have to say it is the best amusement park I have ever been to!

The park is huge. I am personally a roller coaster fan and absoloutely love the thrill. They offer roller coasters for the babies as well as for adults and all in between. With 17 different roller coasters, I'm sure you'll find one you love.

My favorite: The Corkscrew. There is something about all the spins that I enjoy. If roller coasters aren't your thing, no problem! There are great thrill rides like the Ocean Motion, that the whole family can enjoy. The Ocean Motion is a big ship that swings back and forth into the air. It's exciting and gives you that little flip flop in your stomach without having to deal with the ups and downs and the speed of a roller coaster.

Cedar Point has family rides and kid rides too! Something for everyone! If you happen to go on a hot day, you just have to get on the water rides. My favorite is the Thunder Canyon. It's about 8 people that get in with you to this raft type of device with an inter-tube on the bottom of it. You go down the path of water and it has all kinds of canyons and rapids that you float through. You get really wet, but it's a lot of fun!

Let's not even mention the food. No, we have to! They have the best amusement park snacks: elephant ears, fudge. You want it, they have it somewhere in the park. Even if you have special diet needs you can find something in the park to eat. It's the best time to be had. A whole days passes by so quickly with all of the activities you can do.
