There are many family-friendly places to visit in Nebraska if you love history or just want to educate while entertaining your children. Pioneer Village has 26 buildings stretching over 20 acres of land, all dedicated to Americana. There are also a wide variety of museums throughout the state.

If so, one of the best places to visit in Nebraska is the Fremont Dinner Train.

You can enjoy music from the 40s and eat a delicious dinner while riding for 18 miles.

In Durham you can visit the Henry Doorly Zoo and enjoy Vala's Pumpkin Patch.

FunPlex is a huge waterpark packed with wet and dry rides suitable for the entire family. Don't leave the city with-out visiting the Botanical Gardens and the Children's Museum.

Henry Doorly Zoo

When traveling through Nebraska there are two must see places. The Henry Doorly Zoo located in Omaha, NE and Platte River State Park outside of Omaha.

The Scott Aquarium and Leid Jungle are two of the best places to visit in the zoo.

The Scott Aquarium has a shark tunnel where you can see the many ocean animals around you.

The penguin exhibit is very interactive, in that the penguins come close to the glass.

The Leid Jungle is three stories with animals that fit all the stories of the rain forest.

Many animals are very close to you as you walk through. Birds fly freely in the area above your head. The zoo is very big and requires an entire day to see all the attractions.

When in Nebraska to get a great park experience visit the Platt River State Park. There are many trails in this area d some are for horses. The best part about the Platt River State Park is the preserved prairie land. In past visits it has been just awing to see the prairie flowers and grass, which can be as high as your waist.

For an even more scenic view one should go closer to the river banks and see the large trees in the area. One can even drive in areas that have buffalo roaming in significant numbers. The animals in this area are very nice to see in a natural habitat.
