When people think about Kentucky, they may think of horseracing. Yes, Kentucky does feature the Kentucky Horse Park, an educational horse park, however, the state is famous for much more than this.
Other places to visit in Kentucky include the infamous Cherokee Trail of Tears and Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace National Historic Site.
Kentucky features a wide variety of museums including the Louisville Slugger Museum, where Major League Baseball's famous bats are made and the interactive Muhammad Ali Center, which honors this great hero.

Mammoth Cave National Park
Every traveler to Kentucky should stop at the Mammoth Cave National Park. The Park was established in 1941 to protect the unique and interconnecting series of caves.
The park offers a variety of cave tours for the entire family.
These range from a short Mammoth Cave Discovery Tour, to the popular Historic Tour.
Visitors to the park may wish to check ahead to determine which tours will be offered during their visit.
In addition to the tours, there are programs designed just for children.
For children ages 8-12, there is the Trog Tour.
This allows kids a introduction to the caves.
It is a ranger led activity. For children over age 10 and their parents, their is an introduction to caving. On this tour, you may find yourself on your hands and knees, exploring the hidden depths of the caves.
There is lots of wildlife to be found in the Mammoth Cave National Park. Of course, there are always bats to within the caves. Outside the caves, visitors have spotted deer, bobcats, coyotes, fox, salamanders, and much more.
More adventuresome families might like to try camping in the park. For those of you who appreciate sleeping up of the ground, there are rustic cabins available for rent. Mammoth Cave National Park also has a hotel on the site for families who prefer a little more luxury.
Additional activities include horseback riding on one of the Parks trails. The Green and Nolin rivers offer the opportunity for a variety of water events. Families can fish, canoe, and kayak. You may also cross the Green River on one of two ferries.
