Hawaii is well known for its capital city Honolulu and the white sand beach of Waikiki Beach which is popular for its swimming, sunbathing, surfing and body-boarding. However, there are many other places to visit in Hawaii, especially for those seeking to visit some of the more memorable and less congested regions of the state.
For instance, families interested in a culture rich vacation can view an authentic Polynesian Luau or view the USS Arizona Memorial, the site which became the start of World War II for the United States.
Snorkeling, rainforest hiking, active volcanoes to explore, excellent golf courses, rafting, sailing and many more places to visit in Hawaii have also made the state famous.
So tell us what made your Hawaii vacation exotic, unique or fabulous.
Its easy to do! Look at what one family wrote on their road trip with kids:
Feast At Lele in Lahaina
If you are planning to travel to Hawai'i, I would recommend exploring Maui. Not only is it easy to get around but you are instantly captured by the friendliness of the people.
There are many places to admire the scenery as each location has a particular beauty.
You can explore the road to Hana with its narrow winding path leading you on an exhilarating adventure as you cross one-lane bridges, admire waterfalls and sigh at beautiful coastlines.
However, for those of you who are more like me and prefer to admire Maui's beauty by staying put, a perfect attraction to sit and unwind is the Feast At Lele in Lahaina.
This luau is not your traditional buffet-style shared-seating luau but a place where you can enjoy the food, music and dance of four exotic Pacific Islands -Hawai'i, New Zealand, Tahiti and Samoa- as you are waited on by two servers at your private table by the ocean.
When you arrive, you are greeted with a fresh orchid lei, and a refreshing beverage. There is a photographer there to capture your picture either on the beach or at the luau itself.
At dinner, all types of drinks are included with your four main courses, and if you really enjoy a dish, you can even ask for seconds! Each delicious typical meal corresponds to the dance and music of the island being showcased at the time.
And let's not forget the fifth course, a quad of desserts paired with a spectacular grand finale, the fire dance. But, beware! Though the plates may seem small at first glance, they will fill you up instantly.
What I realized as I got closer and closer to the dessert course was that I left each course less empty than the last to the point that I only got to nibble at each dessert! Though the service is wonderful, the best memory is the combination of it all: the natural beauty the island has to offer - the sea, sunset, and palm trees -, with the beautiful performances and delicious dishes typical of the Pacific, and, of course, your family sharing this unforgettable moment with you.
This unique luau is definitely a feast to remember with a smile!
