Lake Mohave Nevada
Lake Mohave is located in between the Hoover and Davis Dams. It is beautiful and usually sunny there with very warm summers and mild winters. The lake is long but not wide, but it is big enough for boating, water skiing, fishing, or swimming.
It is close to Laughlin and an hour away from Las Vegas, but provides such a different atmosphere. The fishing is great there, and the lake has bass, rainbow trout, and even catfish. We didn't catch enough for dinner, but we're also not that much of fishermen.
My favorite thing to do was swim. The water was clean and warm. We went in May, so the temperature was in the low 90's. The kids enjoyed riding on the jet-skis and being pulled behind the boat on a tube. My husband tried to see if his wakeboarding skills were as good as when he was younger, but he couldn't pull off the tricks like he used to.
We found a small, secluded beach to eat lunch and soak in the sun. There were quite a few along the shoreline, but this one we got all to ourselves.
The campgrounds were very nice also. We stayed at Cottonwood Cove because they had RV hookups and all the amenities and the prices were reasonable. The other campground is Katherine Landing and I'm sure it's just as nice.
We were only there for the weekend, so it was a little busier than during the week, but it was early in the summer, so it wasn't very crowded. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Lake Mohave, and would recommend it to families for a great vacation!
