KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Tassel-eared squirrel
This is another campground we have stayed at more than once. Most recently we stayed several nights here in April 2010.
It is an above-average KOA campground - large park, lots of trees and beautiful landscaping. Does make it a little challenging to negotiate if you have a larger rig; although we were able to reserve a pull-thru site that was comfortable to get to.
The park bathrooms weren't the most spic and span I've ever seen, but definitely clean enough. There are two laundry rooms - one attached to the office/store and one attached to the bath house near the center of the park. The second laundry room shared a big room with the book trading library and 2 video games.
The park offers free WiFi and also has 'banana bikes' for rent. The park is situated right at the base of a volcano - Mt. Eldon - and there are hiking trails up the mountain right outside the back gate.
There is a good sized central ‘event’ area with lots of picnic tables and mobile ‘camp kitchen’ – it wasn't yet open for the season when we were there (April 2010).
We had a great time here - hiking as well as watching and identifying the animals. The picture is of a squirrel at the campground - we weren't sure if it was a squirrel or a rabbit at first!
