Iowa State Taxes

Choosing Iowa as an RV Domicile State

Iowa state taxes are important to think about when deciding which state to call your permanent RV domicile. But there are other things that RV families on the road must consider when choosing a home base. Things such as Iowa homeschooling laws, as well as Iowa drivers license and Iowa auto insurance requirements.

The nice thing about having no ties to any state is the ability to choose your RV domicile, or RV home base. You can find a state that offers the best set of options for you and your family, depending on your individual needs. Of course, not every full time RV family has the ability or option of choosing their domicile. See the following page to determine if your domicile has been chosen for you:

  • Iowa Homeschooling Laws & Information

Every state in the United States has different homeschooling laws and regulations. Some states are very difficult to homeschool in, some states are very easy, while most states fall somewhere in the middle. Iowa homeschooling laws are very detailed, and require many actions from parents.

Iowa homeschooling laws state that children must be schooled 37 days per quarter. Parents must submit annual letters of intent which include texts used and an outline of the education the child is to receive. First time homeschoolers also need to provide the school board with vaccination records. Special Education children need board approval to be homeschooled.

Iowa homeschooling laws then require either a bimonthly visit from a certified teacher, an annual evaluation from a teacher, or annual standardized testing. If the homeschooled child is not performing well, the school board can order his return to public school.
