GHOST HILL CAMPGROUNDS, Stone Mountain Village, Georgia
by Happy Camper
I stayed here for a month with my brand new 5th wheel camper and I had to leave because of the conditions. The 45 plus year old bath house was a mess. Paint was chipping off the walls and floors and they have a infestation of water bugs.
75% of the campers are permanent travel-trailer homes for a lot of men in this park. You'll never see children or females staying here. The average age of these campers range from 20 to 25 years old.
This was absolutely the worse private owned campground I've ever stayed at in my entire camping life. Its hard to fit a 5th wheel in this park and good luck trying to drive it in off Ponce Deleon..ugh, you barely fit. The road going in is very uneven, bumpy, pot holes galore.
The first week I was watching my flat screen TV and a cock roach went across the screen and after investigating the issue, I was able to determine they were coming up through their sewer system and crawling through my grey water tank and crawling out through the opening in my bath/shower tub drain. Pros
: Basic TV Reception is fantastic - I could get 60 stations because Atlanta is so close.Cons
: $450 - $500 average cost per month which is high for these conditions/surroundings. This campground has NO WI-FI or CABLE TV or LAUNDRY ROOM or SWIMMING POOL or CHILDREN'S PARK/PLAY GROUNDS and the owner(s) don't except any credit cards, they except cash $$ ONLY. Owners/Managers is hard to get a hold of.Recommendations
: I would recommend planning your stay at the Stone Mountain Camp Grounds or Stone Mountain Heights RV Park.
