Garden of the Gods Campground Colorado Springs, Coloradoby Jess
When I was 20, I went with my family in an RV to Colorado Springs, Colorado. At this age, the last thing I wanted to do was spend two weeks with my family, cramped in an RV. However, this trip turned out to be the best trip of my life and a great family memory. We stayed at Garden of the Gods campground in Colorado Springs. The campground was amazing, I have never seen anything like it before. When I thought about “camping”, I thought of being stuck in a little tent, out in the woods alone, with no place to use the bathroom or take a shower. Garden of the Gods offers you the experience of being outdoors, surrounded by beautiful nature, yet it also provides you with an opportunity to form relationships with the community at the park. I was able to form friendships with not just our “neighbors”, but also other young adults my age while I was there. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful, and the staff offered many group activities, targeted to specific age ranges. This gives you a chance to make friends your age while you are staying there. The management and staff also offer many themed activities that are available to all those whom are staying at the park, which was great to see everyone who stayed at Garden of the Gods become their own community. Another great memory was using the campground bathrooms and showers. Though we did have a bathroom in the RV, it can get a little cramped with six of us all needing to shower! The first time I went to use the campground facilities, my mom and sister went with me. I was truly amazed at how clean the bathrooms and showers were! I honestly thought that they would be dirty and I would feel uncomfortable showering, but everything did not look like what I pictured a “campground bathroom” to be. The showers were very spacious. I remember my mom and I talking in amazement at how pleasantly surprised we were that the showers were big and the bathrooms so clean. Another great thing about Garden of the Gods is that it offers a full service RV hookup. This experience was amazing to me, as I was able to help my dad “hook up” so that we could have electricity, as well as water and sewer. I always thought of the movie “RV” whenever we had to pump the waste materials. The camping trip to Garden of the Gods was the most memorable RV trip I have ever taken. I have also been to the Wisconsin and Michigan in an RV, but the trip to Colorado is one I will never forget. Jess http://www.coloradocampground.com/
