Elitch Gardens and Lakeside in Colorado
by Delia R.
My favorite attractions in Colorado are, Elitch Gardens and Lakeside.
Elitch Gardens, once another chain of Six Flags is still awesome and going strong. I have been a season pass holder for the past 6 years, just for the simple fact that the roller coasters rock! They all meet and exceed the name "thrill ride" and give you a decent variety of thrill.
There are the kiddy rides, everyone rides, the big roller coasters, and if your up for the challenge the spinning tea cups! Depending on your speed it is probably one of the best rides there.
Even though the food there is pretty pricy (bring a lunch if you remember to) it is actually pretty good. They have a subway, home of the $5 6-inch, subway, $8 2 entree, and dots ice-cream, $8 large cup.
Next is Lakeside.
I have only been there for school fund raisers where the rides are free, so its only the entrance fee, but the rides there are absolutely worth the price. They arent nearly as "thrilling" as elitches but size doesnt matter, its how it can blow your mind from complete awesome-ness.
Now unlike Elitches the food is affordable, and is very good. Some of the offered rides are, several roller coasters, a miniaturized "tower of doom" like elitches, a kiddie park, bumper boats, and even one of those big force spinners.
Ok if youre flying in to Colorado for the very first time be prepared. The train you ride to baggage claim is a tourist attraction suitable for all ages. It is probably the coolest thing to do at the airport that fortuanately enough goes it a circle so you cant end up in a wrong place unless you get off at a different stop. It has all the little fan things and bars that are very cool to look at as you pass through the tunnel.
Well from a teenagers P.O.V, these are the most fun tourist attractions that are family friendly. Enjoy!
