Cub Run Cave in Kentucky
One of my families favorite place to visit in Kentucky is Cub Run Cave. It is an unknown Kentucky treasure.
Located in Cub Run Kentucky it is the most natural untouched cave I have ever been in. Our visit started in a small country store where they make the time to get to know you before they start the tour. When the tour time started you hop in your car and follow the tour leader out a small gravel road to a cave.
The entrance to the cave has a stream to the side and is natural looking. As you walk in you have to bend over at first and then you walk into a beautiful room filled with untouched cave artifacts. If you are lucky you see all sorts of cave creatures we saw crabs and cave spiders.
Our biggest treat that my kids loved was being able to see a bat attached to the cave ceiling close enough to see all the detail. The paths are not all finished and the formations are beautiful unlike all the typical tourist attraction caves this one is not as modernized you will see a cave in its natural beauty.
The cave tour itself is much more relaxed then any tour I have ever been in before. The tour guide is very eager to answer question and takes their time to let you enjoy the cave and are invaluable in all the information they can give you about the history of the cave itself.
If you are looking for a memory and a moment off the regular beat then give Cub Run Cave, in Cub Run, KY a visit I promise you will not regret it.
