Como Park in St. Paul, Minnesota
There are a variety of family friendly attractions in Minnesota’s Twin Cities. My family and I visted St. Paul and Minneapolis last summer and came across Como Park in St. Paul while searching for family friendly activities in the city.
The park is large and has many accommodations. Primarily, it contains a zoo called Como zoo complete with a theme park and plant conservatory on the premises.
Our visit to the Como zoo, theme park, and conservatory proved to be a full day of fun for the whole family. Although the Zoo and accompanying theme park are public attractions, small donations are accepted and we donated ten dollars when we went in but the suggested donation at the park is about 2 dollars .
The zoo had much to offer and had lions, gorillas, various primates and bears in beautifully maintained exhibits. The kids especially enjoyed the flamingo exhibit because they had never seen them before.
The plant conservatory was interesting but more adult oriented than the zoo or theme park. The theme park was tiny in comparison to places like universal or Disney obviously but the rides are more for children.
They have carousels, the frog hopper, a big swing ride, and other small carnival type rides that younger kids definitely enjoy. In addition, they also have a full miniature golf course that is fun for the entire family. When we were at the theme park we had ice cream and played a round of miniature golf after visiting the zoo.
Overall Como park was a great choice for a family activity in Minnesota.
