Coco Key Water Park Fitchburg, Massachusetts
Coco Key Water Park is relatively new for Central Massachusetts, opening in 2008, it has become a hot spot for families, especially during school vacations. Located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on the same grounds as the Courtyard by Marriott, formerly the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel, they offer stay and play packages for an overnight visit or if you are local, the water park is open to the public without a hotel stay. The rates are reasonable, at about $150.00 a night for a hotel stay and park passes and for just water park passes, depending on what day you visit they run between $20 and $30 per person, child or adult. The hotel package is a better deal, although we live within minutes of Coco Keys, it is nice to have the privacy of our own room, we usually book a room with two double beds and my son has a great time at the water park every time we go. The park is geared for kids of all ages, with different attractions for different ages and skill level. Starting with the “Parrot’s Perch”, it has slides for the little kids and a shallow walk in area and a big bucket that dumps water every few minutes. The “Coral Reef Cavern” is a pool where the kids can play water basketball. A fast tube ride that runs through an island, called the Coconut Grove, is sure to excite. For the thrill seekers there are 3 water slides, the “Barracuda Blast”, the “Pelican Plunge” and the “Shark Slam”. The “Palm Grotto” is a place to relax in a whirlpool featuring a passage way to swim your way outdoors. I highly recommend this reasonably price family mini-getaway to chase away those winter blues! http://www.cocokeyfitchburg.com/index.asp
