Campfire Cobbler

1 large can sliced peaches, pears, or your favorite canned fruit in liquid

1 box white cake mix
Butter or margarine, about 1 stick or 1/2 cup, cut in pieces
2 tbs. Cinnamon or to taste

For this recipe, you will need to preheat a camping Dutch oven over the fire for about 5 minutes. When hot, add the can of fruit and its liquid into the pot. Put the dry cake mix on top of the fruit. Place pieces of butter or margarine on top, and sprinkle cinnamon all over.

Place lid on the oven and bake about 45 minutes.

Campfire Cobbler recipe

2 cans fruit pie filling,
one can of refrigerated biscuit dough.
1/4 cup cup of brown sugar
one tbl.of cinnamon.

first get your coals very hot.spray a dutch oven with cooking spray.Add fruit pie filling.Cover misture with biscuits and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

cover dutch oven and place in the center of the hot coals. The coals should come up around the sides.Using a shovel cover the lid with hot coals. The fruit cobbler is done when the biscuits are browned.

You should check the cobbler after 15 minutes then check every five minutes. You can also double this recipe to make more of this delicious cobbler.

If you are making this cobbler in the RV you can go inside to get some vanilla ice cream to serve with it.I have also mixed different fruit fillings like apple and blueberry which was very good.I have also put quick cooking oatmeal mixed in with the brown sugar.

If I had a cooler with a stick of butter I would then add some butter pats to the top.Another way to serve is the cobbler filling served in warm flour tortillas that I warm up by wrapping in tin foil and setting on top of coals for a minute or so.

Marschino cherries also give the cobbler a good flavor.Get creative with maple syrup, granola, nuts and anything you like to throw into the cobbler.

Enjoy your campfire dessert!
