Bavarian Themed Helen Georgia
My favorite place in Georgia is a small town called Helen, GA. It is a German-like town all done in a Bavarian theme. Everything in the town is made to make you feel as though you are over in Europe.
Even the restaurants, such as Wendy's look wooden-like and very in place in this town. The town is great for shopping(there is an Outlet mall and many antique shops), rafting, site-seeing in Georgia's beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and just a place to feel as though you're getting away from all of the hustle and bustle of city life.
If you love German cuisine this is just the place for you, also. They do imitation Oktoberfests as they do in Germany and every day you can find vendors of Bratwurst, Knockwurst, or any other 'wurst' you can dream of!
I've visited Helen many times--it was always somewhere we would take my grandparents when they came to visit us in Gainesville, GA, where we lived in North Georgia. It was just like a vacation close to home. To see more about Helen, GA, visit their official website at http://www.helenga.org
