Apple Pie

One of my favorite all time campfire snacks is a baked apple made right in the fire. It's easy to make, too!

You take an apple, any kind that you like, and core it about half way down. Make sure you leave some of the bottom still attached.

Take about a tablespoon of butter and fill the cored part. Sprinkle with some cinnamon and sugar and raisins if you like them.

Wrap the whole apple in foil and place in the fire for about 5 minutes. Use a mitt to remove and let it cool for short amount of time.

When you unwrap the apple, it will taste just like apple pie!

Apple Pie
by:

Campfire baked apple

You will need:

1 apple
1/2 cup brown sugar
handful of crushed walnuts
table spoon of Cinnamon
tin foil

Core the apple and place it in middle of foil.

Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.

Stuff the hollowed out center of the apple with sugar mixture (really pack it in, push down with finger).

Wrap up apple in tin foil, and then place in fire for about 5 minutes, or until you can clearly smell the baked apple (should smell like apple pie).

Use togs or other long metal utensil to retrieve the apple from fire, Open up and let cool (it will be very hot).

After it cools, take a spoon and enjoy your campfire baked apple.

My all-time favorite campfire snack is a take on the classic American apple pie.

You take a tool that holds a slice of bread on each side and spread apple pie filling on one side.

On top of the filling, you can add a variety of topping such as cheese, cinnamon, sugar, etc.

Close the tool, clip the latch shut, and slide it into the fire. After a few minutes you will have a hot, personal size apple pie.

This recipe is also good with other type of pie fillings or to make a pizza with pizza sauce and cheese.
