Homeschooling in AlabamaHomeschooling in Alabama doesn't really exist, per se. By state laws, all children between the ages of 7 and 16 shall attend a public, private, or church school or be tutored by a state certified teacher. So where does that leave families who wish to make Alabama their RV domicile?
The "Church School" is the only reasonable option for homeschooling in Alabama. There are some additional hoops to jump through, but basically, all those who wish to homeschool in Alabama find a church that they wish to do so with, and enroll in their program. They can then homeschool their child at home under the umbrella of the church, (called a Cover School) and met the state requirements. Note: a "church" is not defined as any specific religion in the state of Alabama.
